The following information is sourced from and is the copyright of The Intellectual Assets Centre (TM), Glasgow, Scotland.
This centre has opened its doors in order to assist Scottish Businesses to maximise the economic potential of their intellectual assets.
The Intellectual Assets Centre is different in that it is not only the first organisation of its kind in Scotland, it is the first organisation of its type in Europe and probably in the world to be founded and financed with public funds in order to assist businesses of all sizes and from all sectors to exploit their capability, realise their full potential and maximise commercial opportunities arising from their intellectual assets, when used as part of the business process. The Centre is a potential model for such an organisation currently under development or prototype in other geographic areas.
The Intellectual Assets Centre will raise awareness and understanding of intellectual assets, their value, identification, protection, management and exploitation for business benefit. The Centre will also demonstrate how Intellectual Assets impact upon the development of strategy, products, processes, services, markets and supply and distribution channels.
The role of the centre is to provide information about intellectual assets, to provide tools to answer basic questions and to guide, direct and signpost Scottish companies to suppliers of intellectual asset management services.
